Supercouple Jay-Z and Beyoncé have lost their bid to trademark their daughter Blue Ivy's name.

The duo had hoped to trademark Blue's name so they could launch a line of baby products.

But the NME.com reports that the owner of the Blue Ivy Events company based in Boston was forced to defend the name in court. The judge in the case sided with the owner in defending her trademark, meaning that Jay, Bey and Blue now have no legal right to the name.

So it's a blow to the Blue Ivy brand, that's for sure.

What do you think of the name Blue Ivy?
