Jay Z seems to be stepping up his battle for top spot in the world of music streaming. On Saturday it was reported that the rapper-entrepreneur has removed a large portion of his catalog from Spotify and Apple Music. Spotify confirmed the move on Twitter, writing, "We can confirm that some of Jay Z's catalogue has been removed at the request of the artist /LP."
Those interested in finding what remains on Spotify will learn only two collaborative albums with R Kelly remain, Unfinished Business (2004) and Best of Both Worlds (2002). And that there are only five singles available: "N----s in Paris" (Kanye featuring Jay), "Numb/Encore" (Linkin Park with Hova), "All the Way Up" (Fat Joe and Remy Ma ft. French Montana, Infrared and Jay Z), "Clique" (Big Sean with Jay Z and Kanye) and "Dirt Off Your Shoulders" (with Notorious B.I.G.), all of which are collaborations.
As for Apple Music, a few of Jay Z's albums remain, but many others, including all three Blueprint LPs have been removed. This has been the case for awhile on Apple Music, and all the albums missing are ones where J Hova owns the masters.
In other Jay Z related news, he collaborate with Tyler, the Creator and Frank Ocean on Ocean's new single "Biking". Listen to it below:
