    Jazz musician and producer George Duke died on Monday, August 5. He was 67.

    Duke died in the evening at St. John’s Hospital in Los Angeles, where he was being treated for chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

    His son Rashid thanked fans for their support via this statement:

    "The outpouring of love and support that we have received from my father's friends, fans and the entire music community has been overwhelming. Thank you all for your concern, prayers and support."

    Duke worked with everyone from Michael Jackson to Frank Zappa, so his history and resume were eclectic.
