Jazz pianist and composer Hank Jones has passed away. He was 91-years-old. His career included a turn as pianist for Ella Fitzgerald and he was the accompanist of Marilyn Monroe during her famous rendition of "Happy Birthday," which she sang for her alleged lover, President John F. Kennedy.
Jones, who won a Grammy lifetime achievement award last year and received the National Medal of Arts from President George W. Bush in 2008, died Sunday night at a New York hospital after a brief illness. R.I.P., Hank!
Does hearing of the passing of an old school musician such as Jones remind you of an era gone by or one that you did not experience, but wish you did?
