A previously unreleased cover of Bob Dylan's "Just Like A Woman" by Jeff Buckley has just been released online. The song is one of Buckey's early studio recordings for Columbia Records that will be featured on the upcoming You and I release, due out March 11th on Columbia.
You and I will feature a variety of Jeff Buckley tracks that were recently discovered in the Sony Music archives. Buckley only released one full-length studio album during his lifetime, the breathtaking Grace, in 1994. After the musician's death in 1997, there have been a slew of compilation and live albums put together, but very few unheard pieces currently exist in the Buckley landscape. You and I's 12 tracks are made up of 10 covers, but show off the musician's incomprehensible talents. To go along with the Dylan cover, listeners will also hear renditions of Sly & the Family Stone, Led Zeppelin, and The Smiths.
"Just Like A Woman" is the first track off the upcoming album, and goes on for six-plus stirring minutes. It's a wonderful reminder of Buckley's talents and the range of what he could do.
