CartJessica Simpson Meets With "American Idol" Producers

Pop star Jessica Simpson reportedly met with American Idol producers this week about joining the show's judge's panel, which features a gaping hole created by the exit of former judge Simon Cowell. Producers reportedly wanted Justin Timberlake and Elton John to join the show as judges, but reps for both musicians reportedly denied those reports. Word is that both Timberlake and John took meetings with producers months ago.
Another rumor indicates that Idol execs would like to make an announcement regarding Cowell's replacement(s) next week. We shall see.
