Joan Cusack -whose best role has to be being the sister of John Cusack- has joined the cast of Shameless, a Showtime series that will debut in the US on January 9 at 9 PM ET. The show is an American re-do of a long-running UK show about a dysfunctional working class family. I dunno about you, but are there any non-dysfunctional families out there? William H. Macy will play the patriarch of a family, the father of six kids in Chicago. Cusack will play an agoraphobic house frau who has a "special" friendship with Macy's character. I can only imagine what they mean by "special friendship!"

Emmy Rossum also has a role in the series. She will play the eldest daughter of Macy's character, who basically runs her family's chaotic household.

This show's premise is enticing and I am certainly going to watch this and Big Love this winter.
