Mark David Chapman, the man who shot John Lennon in cold blood, has been transferred to a new prison after spending 31 years in a maximum security facility in Attica, New York.
MDC shot Lennon in New York City in December 1980. He was sentenced to 20-years-to-life after his conviction and has spent the past three decades at Attica Correctional Facility. Earlier this week, he was transferred to Wende Correctional Facility in Alden, near Buffalo.
The reason for his transfer was not released or revealed.
He has been up for parole since 2000, but each of his six requests have been denied. He will try again to be paroled in August.
