This is a true meeting of the minds! Blue collar Indiana rocker John Mellencamp and legendary horror writer Stephen King (who hails from Maine) have teamed up for a horror musical that will make its world debut in Atlanta next year!
I guess this will be a little ditty about Jack and Diane, two American kids growing up in the Darkland!
The Alliance Theater has announced that it will produce Ghost Brothers of Darkland County, describing the production as "a riveting Southern gothic musical."
King's story is based on the real 1957 deaths of two brothers and a young girl. Mellencamp is crafting the "roots and blues-tinged score."
The Alliance's artistic director Susan V. Booth will direct and legendary producer T-Bone Burnett will provide musical direction for the project, which is scheduled to run from April 4th to May 13th, 2012.
Would you travel to Atlanta to see this production?
