John Travolta Extortion Case Charges Dropped

The Associated Press reports that charges against a pair of people attempting to extort $25 million from actor John Travolta have been dropped. The would-be embezzlers, Pleasant Bridgewater and Tarino Lightbourne, were charged with trying to release information about the January 2009 death of Travolta and wife Kelly Preston's 16-year-old son, Jett. That's pretty irreverent of karma, isn't it? The judge dismissed the case after prosecutor Neil Braithwaite submitted a motion on behalf of the actor to drop the charges. "The Travolta family has said that this matter has caused them unbelievable stress and pain and they wish to put this whole thing behind them," Braithwaite said.
Travolta and Preston have enjoyed a spot of good news; they are expecting another child - a boy- sometime this year.
Did Bridgewater and Lightbourne get off easy?
