The Man in Black is on the block. A plethora of Johnny Cash's personal items, including guitars, costumes, handwritten lyrics and other assorted personal belongings, are being auctioned off on December 5.
Some of the key pieces include the embroidered blue jumpsuit Cash wore to rehearse for his infamous performance at San Quentin State Prison. The jumpsuit is expected to rake in somewhere between $3,000 to $5,000. Other items up for bid include vintage guitars, a harmonica, Cash's passport and briefcase and pages upon pages of handwritten lyrics, notes and poems.
If you are a Johnny Cash fan, this is a bonanza of personal stuff up for grabs.
The items will be on view in Los Angeles before the early December auction and the sale will be administered by Julien's Auctions. A portion of the proceeds will benefit MusiCares, the Recording Academy's charity for musicians in need.
