Korn's tenth album The Path of Totality is the most revolutionary hard rock record of the past decade. No one has melded metal and electronic music like this—ever. Now, everyone will be following the leader again. They're already starting to just take a listen to what's floating around on the Internet and on satellite radio.
One of the record's most entrancing and elegantly heavy tunes is "Way Too Far". It's a spacey roller coaster fueled by James "Munky" Shaffer's formidable riffing and ethereal soundscapes. Think a heavy ass Dark Side of the Moon and you're halfway there. Fieldy's bass roars and Ray Luzier's drums practically rattle the stars from the sky.
Jonathan Davis's lyrics on the track are some of his most powerful and revealing. The hook is one of the biggest of the band's career too.
Given how incredible this track is, ARTISTdirect.com editor in chief Rick Florino spoke to Jonathan Davis of Korn about what it means to him, where it came from, and so much more in this exclusive interview…
