Joni Mitchell Blasts Bob Dylan

The gloves are off for singer/songwriter Joni Mitchell, who hurled some rather harsh insults at Bob Dylan. In an interview with The LA Times, Miss Mitchell lobbed some hardball comments at Dylan, taking shots at his authenticity. Mitchell was quoted as saying, "Bob is not authentic at all. He's a plagiarist, and his name and voice are fake. Everything about Bob is a deception."
Wow. Those are some fighting words. Wonder what "Bob" did to piss Joni off to the extent that she felt the need to go public with such vicious commentary? Time to dig deep into the history books and see if these two had some affair gone sour or if she knows a something we don’t.
Is it wrong for singers to go after one another in the press? What do you think will be Bob Dylan's reaction to such statements? Is Joni in dire need of press?
