Joseph Fiennes Flashes Forward
Joseph Fiennes, who portrayed a young William Shakespeare in Shakespeare in Love, is heading to the small screen. The actor is in final negotiations to star in a pilot for ABC's high-concept drama, Flash Forward.John Cho of Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle fame is also in negotiations to take a role in the pilot, which will be based on Robert J. Sawyer's sci-fi novel Flash. Flash follows the chaos that erupts when everyone in the world passes out for exactly two minutes and 17 seconds and have mysterious visions of the future that change their lives. Fiennes will play FBI agent Mark Branford, a drinker who is rebuilding his life and marriage when he has the life-altering blackout. Cho would play Dominic Witten, a fellow agent and friend of Brandford who has a blackout he can't remember, which may or may not be a foreshadowing of his death.
Fiennes' next film, Against the Current, will premiere at Sundance next year. Cho recently enjoyed a recurring role in another ABC series, Ugly Betty. He will play Sulu in next summer's reboot of Star Trek.
