Producer Judd Apatow has cut scenes from The Year One, a bawdy comedy starring Jack Black and Michael Cera and written and directed by Harold Ramis, in order to achieve a more desirable PG-13 rating.
The Sony film, featuring Black and Cera as cavemen traveling through the ancient world, is due out June 19 and was originally slapped with an R-rating due to some sexual content and language. Apatow and Ramis appeared before the rating appeals board to argue for leniency, but the MPAA didn't budge and upheld the R. Subsequently, Apatow and Ramis made cuts to the film and the board re-rated the film to PG-13.
