Julius J. Carry, a veteran character actor best known for his hilarious role as Sho'nuff in the B-movie The Last Dragon, has passed away. He died last week in Los Angeles due to complications from pancreatic cancer. He was 56-years old.
Carry appeared in dozens of television shows throughout his active years, among them Boy Meets World, The Cosby Show and Murphy Brown. His most famous role, however, was in the cult blaxploitation/kung fu flick, The Last Dragon, in which he played the villainous Sho'nuff. The film is a revered in underground circles. Carry is survived by his wife Naomi. Donations may be made to The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
In other celebrity passing news, actor Fred Crane, who played Brent Tartleton in Gone With the Wind, has also died. Crane was 90 years old and died from complications stemming from diabetes. He is survived by his wife Terry Lynn Crane, with whom he ran a bed and breakfast with just south of Atlanta, as well as four children, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
