The year in commercial music is drawing to a close, and as such the nice folks over at Billboard have compiled the "Hot 100 Songs of 2016". This list offers few surprises for those in the audience who have been paying attention to the movers and shakers of this last year.

Justin Bieber secured himself the top spot and the second best position with "Love Yourself" and "Sorry", respectively. Drake, jostled into third place with his WyzKid and Kyla-featured track "One Dance", Drake also features in Rihanna's "Work" which comes in at number four. Just pushing Panda's "Desiigner" from the fifth place, Twenty One Pilots make the cut with their track "Stressed Out" - representing an alternative voice to an otherwise popped-up R 'n' B monopoly in the top five spots.

Also in the top 20 - Adele represents herself with "Hello" in seventh place, The Chainsmokers land in at eighth, "Can't Stop The Feeling" from Justin Timberlake settles just inside the top 10, with The Chainsmokers taking another spot at that sweet spot, with "Closer".

Just missing out on a top ten place is Sia, with the club and radio favorite "Cheap Thrills"

Elsewhere throughout the chart Justin Bieber, Drake, and The Chainsmokers continue to feature with "What Do you Mean", "Hotline Bling" and "Roses" - while Twenty One Pilots and Rihanna also feature again, and again, and again.
