Justin Bieber Settles Miami DUI Case With Plea Deal

Nearly seven months later, Justin Bieber has settled his Miami DUI case with a plea deal and a nice donation to charity.
CNN reports that The Biebs made a $50,000 donation to a youth charity as part of the deal.
The singer was not in court when his lawyers entered a guilty plea for careless driving and resisting arrest. The singer, 20, was cuffed last January when he allegedly was involved in drag racing. He also had traces of pot in his system, but he was not DUI. The facts of the case seemed to differ from all sides.
Prosecutors also dropped the drunken driving charge.
As part of the deal, The Biebs must complete 12 hours of anger management counseling and attend a program educating kids about the impact of drunken driving on victims. He also made a donation to Our Kids. The donation was demanded by prosecutors, but it could not legally be a part of the plea deal. The payment was made prior to the judge's acceptance of the plea deal.
Judge William Altfield spoke about the in absentia Biebs, hoping his lawyers would relay the message about his social and civic responsibilities. He said, "I hope that he realizes that his actions not only lead to consequences that affect him, but they lead to consequences that affect others who are looking up to him as a role model."
Straighten up and fly right, JB! Stay OUTTA trouble, yo!
