I just MySpaced you! What, is this 2005?

According to The Hollywood Reporter Justin Timberlake is taking a stake in MySpace after the former social networking titan was acquired by online advertising network Specific Media. JT will reportedly help the company develop its new strategy and creative direction.

Ironically, Timberlake starred in The Social Network, also known as the "Facebook movie." Facebook has long surpassed MySpace as the leading social media site; MySpace's numbers have declined significantly in recent years.

Under its new owner, which finalized an acquisition for $35 million on Wednesday, MySpace is expected to focus on music.

"There's a need for a place where fans can go to interact with their favorite entertainers, listen to music, watch videos, share and discover cool stuff and just connect. MySpace has the potential to be that place," said Timberlake in a statement. "Art is inspired by people and vice versa, so there's a natural social component to entertainment. I'm excited to help revitalize MySpace by using its social media platform to bring artists and fans together in one community."

Do you still have an active MySpace page or did you delete it eons ago? Does Justin Timberlake's involvement make you want to re-activate your MySpace page?
