Kanye West and Suge Knight Met in a Conference Room on Friday

Kanye West and Suge Knight met face-to-face on Friday in a conference room in New York City to discuss a pre-MTV Video Music Awards party in Miami Beach in 2005, where Knight, the former head of Death Row Records, was shot in the leg, according to The Associated Press. Thankfully, there was no eruption of fisticuffs at the uneventful gathering.
The problem in a nutshell? West hosted the party at the Shore Club and Knight is suing him, along with the club owners, alleging they did not provide enough security at the event, which was attended by high profile celebs like Eddie Murphy, Jessica Alba, Paris Hilton and The Black Eyed Peas.
Knight said he was hoping that the meeting with West and his legal team would settle the matter, but such was not the case. "I figured I could sit him down, man to man, and get this resolved," Knight said after the six-hour, closed-door session at a Fifth Avenue office. "I'm disappointed." Instead, it was reiterated that West wasn't involved in the security arrangements for the party, according to Knight's lawyer, Marc Brumer. West left the building after the meeting. How the hell do you not settle something after six hours? This must be some serious beefage.
To give you a quick briefing on the case as it stands: There have been no arrests made in the shooting, where six shots were popped off. Knight's femur was shattered and he was saddled with $200,000 in medical bills as a result. He feels that the club should have had the foresight to consider that the party could devolve into a dangerous environment, given the rap wars. Knight also said, "My whole thing is: I'm not here to put nobody behind bars. It's time for more positive now."
Do Knight and his suit make valid points? Or is Kanye West really getting the shaft here? Hash it out with your comments here, while these dudes take their shit to court.
