Kara DioGuardi's father, a Republican US Senate contender in New York, has spilled a few beans about his songwriter daughter and her current plight with American Idol. In addition to doing A&R for Warner Bros. and writing songs for pop stars, DioGuardi is also an Idol judge and rumors abound that she is on her way out in the judge shuffle. Her dad, Joe, said she is getting the silent treatment from Fox about her future with the show.
"Would you believe she did not hear -- and still has not heard -- anything?" Joe DioGuardi said on the New York TV show Capital Tonight. Perhaps Kara's managers can call Fox producers themselves to find out WTF is up, maybe? That's called being proactive, not reactive, and if DioGuardi is getting the shaft from Fox and Idol producers, then she should assert herself. Go Girl!
"She read it the way you did and I did. Her disappointment is that that's the way she's being treated and she feels that's not proper. I think they're trying to create a lot of buzz... they're trying to reformat the thing. But Kara has a very deep career in music... she'll be fine. Would she want to do it another year? I think so... I think at some point [she] will confront them on that."
Would you like to see DioGuardi remain on the show or do you not even give a shit about her status on the show?
