Katherine Heigl, who exited Grey's Anatomy, the series which made her a star, without so much as wrapping up her character's storylines, has signed on to star in The Age of Adaline, a love story that will begin shooting in October. The film has a theme about never growing old and centers on a young woman, who is born at the turn of the 20th century and becomes ageless after she is involved in some sort of accident. She leads a mostly solitary life until she meets the man of her dreams who is worth giving up her immortality. The male lead who will star opposite Heigl has yet to be cast.
Heigl left her longtime role as Dr. Isobel Stevens on Grey's this year. She didn't return to film final scenes or to wrap up her character’s story arc, in a move that disappointed fans and that many deemed as ungrateful and selfish. It seemed like a bum move on Heigl's part, since the show made her a star and gave her the opportunity to transition to movies. Many speculated that she left the show in order to focus on her film career but she also said she was leaving to devote more time to her adopted daughter.
Do you think Heigl really dissed Grey's fans, the very folks who made her a star, and producers with her actions and does this move rub salt in the wound?
