Katy Perry's "California Gurls," the sassy West Coast anthem that ruled last summer is the No. 1 best-selling digital song of 2010, according to Soundscan. The track, featuring Snoop Dogg, sold 4,398,212 downloads in the U.S., and 8 million singles, digital tracks, mobile tracks and videos worldwide. It's official: "California Gurls" is a hit.
After much speculation, Katy has confirmed that "E.T." will be the fourth single released from Teenage Dream, also home to "California Gurls." Currently available on iTunes, "E.T." will go to radio in mid-February.
Perry will guest star on an episode of the CBS Emmy-nominated series How I Met Your Mother titled "Oh Honey," to be broadcast later this season. It's official: Perry has crossed over to the realm of super duper star.
