Kendrick Lamar has revealed the title, the artwork and the tracklist for his new album. The rapper's highly anticipated follow-up to 2015's incredible To Pimp A Butterfly, is simply called Damn. — and it's set for release on Friday, April 14th.

The artwork for Damn. was shared by Lamar on his Instagram and Twitter accounts. The album contains 13 tracks — all single-name titles. Rihanna is credited as appearing on a track called "Loyalty" while long-time rockers U2 show up for what may be a genre-melting guest spot on the track "Xxx". No other collaborators or featured guests have been credited — so there may be some surprises, or this may be a particularly focused and self-determined affair from an artist who is considered by many to be one of the most significant rappers of his generation.

Though Lamar's recent surprise single, "The Heart Part 4" is not shared in the tracklist, Lamar's recently released single "Humble" is. The track debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's Hot 100 this week and is the highest charting entry for a rap track since Eminem's 2010 single "Love the Way you Lie".

The New York Times' T Magazine, Lamar talked about the follow-up to To Pimp a Butterfly. In that discussion he considered his album a "very urgent" record. "I think now, how wayward things have gone within the past few months, my focus is ultimately going back to my community and the other communities around the world where they're doing the groundwork. To Pimp a Butterfly was addressing the problem. I'm in a space now where I'm not addressing the problem anymore… We're in a time where we exclude one major component out of this whole thing called life: God," he added. "Nobody speaks on it because it's almost in conflict with what's going on in the world when you talk about politics and government and the system."

So — with a flavor of what's to come, in the shape of the two tracks, "Humble" and "The Heart Part 4", we're starting to get a sense of where Lamar's head and heart are focused. Now all we need to do is wait, and wait, and wait… until Friday when we'll hear what has to be one of the most eagerly awaited albums in recent years.
