Kid Cudi "Just what Iam" Featuring King Chip Song Review — 5 out of 5 stars

Very rarely do artists challenge themselves anymore.
This is the age of predictability, when one album or song simply feeds into the next in desperate hope for that elusive "hit". Kid Cudi isn't worried about all of that—nor should he be. The most creative MC on the planet returns with another hazy anthem that's unlike any of his past material, while preserving the essence that made the world love him in the first place. That's part of his brilliance. He can continually evolve without ever losing his identity, which is an art in and of itself.
WZRD saw the Man on the Moon go to deep space nine with a fascinating and fiery alternative rock record. Now, he's back to hip hop, but with something the world has never heard before. The first taste of his forthcoming, Indicud, "Just What Iam" featuring King Chip, skates through the clouds with airy production and ominous synths. Suddenly, Cudi proclaims, "I'm just what you made god" and he begins pondering existence in this spacey realm of his own. Once again, his flow is unmatched in terms of both poetry and personality. King Chip also drops by for an impressive cameo.
Once again, he flips the script. A robotic voice warbles during the irresistible refrain. After more confessions, he admits, "Fuck yes, I'm so odd". It's a cathartic statement that resonates through this smoky universe with a point.
This is just what Kid Cudi is. He's one of the most groundbreaking artists on the planet, and indicud has "classic" written all over it.
