Kid Rock Says Ticket Brokers Are Taking Advantage of His Birthday Bash

The Associated Press reports that Detroit's favorite son Kid Rock is lambasting local ticket brokers, accusing them of crashing his birthday bash and driving up concert prices.
Rock, born Bob Ritchie in the Motor City, posted on his website that he would love to confront scalpers that buy blocks of his low-priced tickets, then resell them for a profit, which, I might add, is an age-old dilemma that musicians face. Rock says it leaves him feeling "like someone is beating up a close friend or family member while" he's chained to a chair. Ouch!
More than 45,000 tickets for Rock's forthcoming 40th birthday bash on January 15 at Ford Field sold out in 19 minutes.
Rock certainly stimulates the hard-hit local economy by performing in his home area; he has sold more than 180,000 tickets during the past 14 months for shows in the Detroit area.
Are you based in Detroit and planning to attend Kid Rock's January birthday bash at Ford Field?
