Pamela Anderson's erstwhile ex Kid Rock has been hired to host this year's CMT Music Awards, which are slated to air June 9 in Nashville.
Kid Rock is gearing up for some visibility as he prepares for the release of his next album. Does anyone else remember when Kid Rock was a Detroit rapper? Well, that's ancient history, as he has crossed over and has enjoyed some country scene success with the hits "Picture" and "All Summer Long."
Jim Beam Bourbon, a Kid Rock Sponsor, will team up with him to offer a download of a new song, the "Times Like These," as well as a six-song digital live EP from his July 2009 home town stadium shows at Detroit's Comerica Park. The downloads will be available with the purchase of special edition gift cartons of Jim Beam or the cherry-flavored Red Stag by Jim Beam, beginning next month. The live tracks include "Rock N Roll Jesus," "All Summer Long," "Amen," "Picture," "So Hott" and "Bawitdaba." So if you like to drink and rock, then these promotion will certainly wet your whistle in more ways than one.
The gift cartons will also promote donations for Operation Homefront, a nonprofit organization that provides emergency financial and morale assistance to U.S. military personnel and their families, since Rock is a fervent troops supporter.
Which Kid Rock do you like better: the rapper or the country boy?
