While Kings of Leon vowed to make things up to their furious fans after they cut short a gig in Texas when frontman Caleb Followill walked offstage mid-concert, bitching about the heat and his voice problems and even scheduled make-good dates for the cut short and canceled shows over the weekend, the band has decided to cancel its tour altogether.
Here is the backstory:
The Kings abandoned their gig at the Gexa Energy Pavilion in Dallas on Friday, July 29th, when Followill disappeared backstage due to said heat and voice issues. Nothing sucks more than heat.
The band issued an apology and announced September 21st as the make good date for the cut short show.
The statement read: "The Kings of Leon apologize to their fans for the inconvenience this may have caused and look forward to seeing their fans again in September."
The band also canceled their Saturday, July 30th gig in Houston. It was rescheduled for September 22nd.
All those plans are in the shitter, as the band has now canceled the entire tour.
The new statement about the tour cancelation read as follows: "We are so sorry to say Kings of Leon are canceling their entire US tour due to Caleb Followill suffering from vocal issues and exhaustion. The band is devastated, but in order to give their fans the shows they deserve, they need to take this break."
The statement also says that the 28 canceled dates "cannot be rescheduled due to the band's international tour schedule. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. Tickets purchased online or via phones will be automatically refunded. The band will resume touring in Canada at the Rogers Center in Vancouver, BC, on September 28th. That show was originally schedule for September 14th."
Get some rest, guys. The heat is a bitch.
