Kiss Raise a Million Bucks for a Museum

KISS, despite their penchant for over-the-top marketing and propaganda, have good hearts. The band has raised $1 million for the construction of a military museum in Oregon.
Why? Well, Kiss support our troops and guitarist Tommy Thayer is from Oregon. Additionally, the museum will be named after Thayer's father, Brigadier General James B. Thayer. His dad is a 93-year-old World War II veteran. We salute him!
So, yeah, Kiss came up with quite a way to honor vets!
Some of the funds raised for the museum were raised via charity event this month in which the band performed a rare acoustic set, sans the signature makeup!
Frontman Paul Stanley auctioned off a special axe -- a guitar that he has played since 1989. The prized guitar sold for $20,000.
How do you support our vets?
