Aussie pop sensation Kylie Minogue, who had been battling breast cancer since 2005, will return with the new single, "All the Lovers," from her upcoming album Aphrodite, in June.
Aphrodite is Minogue's eleventh album overall and is her first album since X, which was released in 2007. In a statement, Minogue, best known in America for her perky rendition of "Locomotion" in the 1980s, said, "The single was one of the last tracks to be written for the album. As I was recording it I knew that 'All the Lovers' had to be the first single; it sums up the euphoria of the album perfectly. It gives me goose-bumps, so I'm really excited to hear what everyone thinks of it."
Aphrodite will hit shelves on July 5. Minogue is a bonafide pop star in Australia and in Britain and she has sold an impressive 60 million units. However, she has dealt with American apathy towards her music, having only achieved marginal success in the US, having toured here but once in 2009! Minogue was sidelined by a breast cancer diagnosis in 2005, but after surgery and chemotherapy, she returned to the stage in 2008, playing over 20 countries.
