Lady Gaga Countersues Ex-Boyfriend and Producer Rob Fusari

Looks like Lady Gaga is finding out who here friends aren't as her fame continues to grow at an exponential rate. Gaga has responded to a $30.5 million lawsuit filed last week by her (apparently) money grubbing ex-boyfriend and former producer Rob Fusari with a lawsuit of her own. In her countersuit, Gaga claims that Fusari has no rights to any of her finances or earnings and that the contract once held between the duo, which was signed in 2006, during a two-year period before Gaga's career rocketed to the stratosphere, was dishonest. In her filing, Gaga disputed Fusari's claims that he wrote two tracks from her multi-platinum debut, The Fame and that the he helped develop her sound, which he says entitles him to a percentage of her profits. Fusari has demanded compensation of $30.5 million for his services.
Gaga filed her suit in Manhattan. Her suit claims the contract she signed with Fusari was both vague and misleading, which we can understand, given that most contracts are loaded with enough legal jargon to make you suffer an epileptic seizure.
A main point of contention regarding Fusari's suit is why he waited till now to file it and to bitch and moan now that he was not rightfully compensated. Why didn't he bring the lawsuit up from day one? Before the singer became a superstar? Given the fact that Gaga and Fusari once dated forces us to wonder if this has anything to do with the fury of a man scorned? Guess we'll have to wait and see how this one plays out in the courts. We're sure Gaga has employed an army of lawyers, as big as her posse of stylists and handlers, to help her fight this suit.
Do you think Gaga's ex is making a thinly veiled attempt to cash in now that's she's made it? Do you think their former relationship hastened the suit or plays a part in it? Do you think Fusari's claims have merit?
