Lady Gaga Did Not Diss Weird Al's "Born This Way" Parody

Weird Al Yankovic, the greatest modern parodist in pop culture, took to his blog on Wednesday to say that Lady Gaga had nixed his parody of "Born This Way," dubbed "Perform This Way." Al was bummed out about this, since he always seeks permission even though he is able to parody songs due to fair-use laws, which don't require that he receive permission to poke fun of songs! However, it turns out, Lady Gaga did not deny Weird Al's parody; her manager never told her about it! Communication breakdown, kids!
Al took to his blog to post the following message: "After putting my Lady Gaga parody on YouTube this morning — and announcing that it wouldn't be on my next album because Gaga didn't approve it — there was a huge outpouring of disappointment from the Internet," Yankovic wrote. "Apparently the fact that she didn't approve it was news to Lady Gaga herself! Gaga's manager has now admitted that he never forwarded my parody to Gaga — she had no idea at all. Even though we assumed that Gaga herself was the one making the decision (because, well, that's what we were TOLD), he apparently made the decision completely on his own."
Yankovic said the singer's manager has apologized to him for the mix-up and said that Gaga reportedly loves the parody.
Do you dig Weird Al's parody of "Born This Way?"
