Lady Gaga Lifts Lid Off The Super Bowl, Then Announces World Tour

Lady Gaga literally took the roof off of the Super Bowl last night. Houston's NRG Stadium, the arena for yesterday's incredible display of football, peeled back it's roof for the singer's acrobatic halftime show. (Congratulations to Patriots for their historic comeback)
Starting on the roof, against a backdrop of the city, and countless illuminated drones which filled the skies with the American flag, the singer leapt in her harness down into the arena, where she continued her acrobatic wire-work and performed a medley of her best known and most loved tracks — starting with "Poker Face" — shouting out to Texas, host state of the event.
Wrapping up her performance Gaga dropped the mic and leapt — out of sight from the stage. But it didn't end there. Following the show the Joanne singer announced a massive world tour — with North American dates kicking off on August 1st, in Vancouver, BC, before heading to Europe on September 22nd for a date in Barcelona, Spain. The singer will be performing at the Rock in Rio Festival, with an appearance confirmed for September 15th. Tickets for the tour will be on sale from February 10th.
The GRAMMY Award and Golden Globe winning artist has amassed over 30 million global album sales, 150 million single sales and is one of the best-selling musicians of all time. We've not even mentioned her Academy Award nomination yet. She is also one of the biggest living forces in social media with over 61 million likes on Facebook, over 65.1 million followers on Twitter and over 21.3 million followers on Instagram.
Gaga's fifth studio album "Joanne" was recently released and debuted at number one on the Billboard Top 200, marking it her 4th consecutive album to hit the top spot — the first female to do so in the 2010s.
It's safe to say, considering the size of the artist's following, the reception of her recent album, and the flamboyance of last night's show — the upcoming tour promises to be something quite special.
