Lady Gaga Named to Time Top 100 List

Time published its list, "The Time 100," which is an annual collection of the top 100 celebrities who most affect our world. It's a rundown of the most influential people in celebrity-ville but the news weekly also had categories for leaders, heroes and thinkers. Lady Gaga made the list and that should come as a shock to absolutely no one, given her sphere of influence over pop music and her water cooler discussion ensembles! She was deemed "an inspiration to other artists," in a tribute penned by singer Cyndi Lauper. Gaga and Lauper appear together as a glammed out pair in print advertising for MAC Cosmetics' latest "Viva Glam Campaign," the company's fund that supports people living with AIDS. Each singer/pop icon has her own shade of Viva Glam lipstick. Perfect for smothering fans in kisses with!
Ricky Gervias, Sandra Bullock and Simon Cowell were also selected. Thankfully, Bullock wasn't a mercy selection, given the cheating scandal that shattered her world, post-Oscar win. She's truly a doll and a celeb who never takes herself too seriously. And she makes us laugh, which is one of the most beautiful things in life. Okay, enough of this sap! Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson was also selected, since his portrayal of pasty bloodsucker Edward Cullen, or Eddie Culls, as I like to call him, put him on pop culture's radar. Other choices are Prince, Sir Elton John and of course, Oprah Winfrey, who is set to wrap up her long-running, daytime TV gabfest shortly. O 'Frey has made the list every year since it was launched seven years ago.
Taylor Swift and Kathryn Bigelow also made the list.
Do you think Time editors were right on with their selections? Anyone you think should have been included?
