On Friday, New York became the sixth state in the nation to pass a law allowing gay marriage and gay rights advocate Lady Gaga took to Twitter to express her joy…which was so copious it caused her to shed a tear.

Gaga tweeted: "I can't stop crying. We did it kids."

Gaga cried tears of joy for this momentous occasion. It's especially important to her, given that she is a native New Yorker.

I think that a famous New York-based gay couple should throw lavish wedding and have Gaga perform "Born This Way" at the reception to get asses dancing.

Congrats to the state of New York for passing this historical piece of legislation.

What do you think of Lady Gaga's gay rights advocacy? What do you think about the passing of this law?
