Lady Gaga's Latest Fabric: Hair

By now, you have probably heard that provocateur Lady Gaga showed up at New York City's tiny Oak Room last week wearing a dress made of human hair. Last month, she rocked a meat dress. Now she's moved onto human hair and the sheath of brown and blonde tendrils was held together by glue and string. Gaga wore fishnets and Armadillo heels by the late, great Alexander McQueen with her hair dress.
It is certainly an odd look, but Gaga wore raw meat, for God's sake. So I expect her to wear strange, eyebrow-raising and downright unusual clothing. But as a fashion watcher, I have to wonder: is she going beyond the limits of fashion and venturing into too outrageous and over-the-top to even consider these ensembles fashion statements? Is she pushing the limits of taste? I guess I would have to confer with Project Runway judges Nina Garcia and Michael Kors, who consider themselves arbiters of taste and they would certainly question the taste level of these garments. It makes me wonder if this hair dress would be considered high fashion, which is essentially meant for the runway only, and not in real life. In that case, Gaga doesn't really reside on earth - she is reaching for the stars- so maybe she is exempt from the criticism of fashion watchers.
I would never wear a dress made of meat or hair, but that's not the point. Gaga would and has. But I don't know if I think a dress made of hair looks fashion forward.
That said, I love Gaga's style. She doesn't care what anyone thinks and for that, I applaud her till the palms of my hands are red.
What is your take on Gaga's hair dress?
