Finally we find out what the hell Lady Gaga is doing in terms of her partnership with Polaroid. At the CES on Thursday in Las Vegas, which is no doubt crawling with gadget geeks, Gaga and the film company unveiled a pair of sunglasses that double as a digital camera. They are goggle-like and also Gaga-like.
Users can snap and save photos, as well as display them on the outer screen/lenses. The idea came from pair of glasses Gaga fashioned from old iPod screens while on tour a few years back. How futuristic, fashion-forward and functional.
Gaga also co-designed a wireless printer that users can send photos taken with their mobile phones to result in a 3x4 printout, as long as Bluetooth access is available. iPhones are not compatible with this product...yet.
Also, a modernized version of the classic Polaroid instant camera, which lets users save photos both digitally as well as print them out using an inkless technology called Zinc. Each cartridge holds 10 printouts.
"I'm sure many of you here are nerdy enough to carry around a mobile printer," Gaga told the crowd while conducting a live demo of the unit. "I know I am."
All the products were prototypes which are expected to be available for purchase during the 2011 holidays.
What do you think of Gaga's product collaborations with Polaroid?
