It has been reported by the Associated Press that Lady Gaga will perform "The Star-Spangled Banner" at this year's Super Bowl. It had already been announced that Coldplay, Beyoncé and Bruno Mars will be performing at the Super Bowl 50 halftime concert, but adding Gaga as the spectacle's opening act adds even more star power to the already celebrity-studded sporting event. The Super Bowl is set set to take place at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California on Sunday, February 7th.
This has been a big week for announcements about Lady Gaga performances. Yesterday, it was revealed that The Fame Monster singer will be performing a seven minute medley of David Bowie songs at this year's GRAMMYs. The GRAMMYs will air February 15th on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
Earlier this month, it was announced that Lady Gaga is currently working on her new album with Elton John. She has also been nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song for "Til it Happens to You" from the documentary Hunting Ground. And even earlier in January, she won a Golden Globe for Best Performance by An Actress in a Limited Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television for American Horror Story: Hotel. Needless to say, it has been a good start to the year for Gaga.
