Lady Gaga "Would Rather Die" Than Have Fans See Her Without Her Heels

Many pop tarts have tried to replicate what Madonna did in the '80s, with her rubber bracelets, her pre-cone tit corsets, her "Boy Toy" belt buckle and other assorted attire. Britney tried it and failed. Christina and her ass-less chaps tried it and ended up looking cheap and later apologizing for it. The only true heir to Madonna's fashionable throne is Lady Gaga, who recently said that she'd rather die than to have her fans see her without her high heels and that she never wears sloppy clothes, even when running to the supermarket! Check out this video of Gaga talking fashion with BBC one host Jonathan Ross below.
We love how she looks positively, absolutely nauseous at the photoshopped picture of her draped in a Snuggie! Love the star's black, French telephone topper, too. Clearly, fashion is a way of life for Lady Gaga and it's only a matter of time before, like any good diva, she starts her own fashion line. Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B. line is one of the hottest things going right now and Gaga should enter those sweepstakes soon enough. Wonder if she'll do a capsule collection for a mass marketer like Target? Probably not, since her style is too eccentric for the mainstream Bullseye shoppers.
In the vid, Gaga, who is a fashion icon for straight women and gay men alike, says it's OK to be different and she is clearly adopting that mantra 24/7/365. Even if you don't wear a telephone hat, Gaga does inspire you to not care what others think of your attire and if you like it, wear it! She even has a bit of a British affect to her voice, which is also something that Madonna adopted to much criticism, but we'll cut her some slack, because she's young and hip and has us locked into what she's doing next. You know, we'd bet the farm that Gaga wouldn't even wear sweatpants to the gym, much less a midnight trip to the market. She's not Amy Winehouse, for God's sake.
But our gal Gaga has donned 10-inch Alexander McQueen stilettos, which must be good for her calf muscles. She's worn geometric dresses that would look foolish on 98 percent of the female population, including fellow fashionista Rihanna. But it's Gaga's je ne sais quoi that prevents her outrageous attire from becoming outlandish. Granted, most of Gaga's get ups are for the runway and the stage, as opposed to the realway, but it's still a gas to wonder what she's going to wear to an awards show, on stage or whatever photo opp comes across her red carpet.
