Lana Del Rey was palling around with Marilyn Manson a while back. Apparently, she starred in an unreleased Manson video, directed by Hostel helmer Eli Roth, that finds her being abused and raped. It's controversial, that's for sure.
The video, which was not set to a particular song and was never meant to be released, leaked online. It has been yanked left and right, but not before creating some NSFW postings and controversy. People are in an uproar over the clip, since it depicts a rape scene. So it's understandable that it's become a big mess. It's problematic on so many levels.
During a Larry King interview, Roth had mentioned that he shot the footage, noting that it was disturbing and that it was locked in a vault. Well, not any longer, it'd seem.
A rep for the shock rocker commented on the clip to Pitchfork, saying, "Manson did not direct this, shoot it, nor was it for a Marilyn Manson video or outtake footage made by him or to be used by him with his music. It must be a fan video splicing up old Manson video footage with someone else's Lana Del Rey footage."
