Scott Mirkin has served as the executive producer for the largest free concert in America, known as "Welcome America," since 2008. This year, four-time Grammy award-winning band The Roots return to headline the "Welcome America" concert" and the show is being dubbed the "Philly Fourth of July Jam." The band and their musical director ?uestlove will be performing their set, as well as sets with special guests such as Earth, Wind & Fire, Michael McDonald, Estelle, Sara Bareilles, DJ Jazzy Jeff, etc on July 4th. Last year over half-a-million people attended and this year's lineup is even better!
"After last years amazing turnout of over half-a-million people, I know 2011 will bring it to a whole new level. We've got the A-list artists, like The Roots, Estelle, Sara Bareilles, and legends like Earth, Wind & Fire and Michael McDonald, not to mention its recognized as the 'Largest Free Concert in America!' The 4th of July Philly Jam is right up there with the level of talent, and the sheer enormity of it all. But we've focused on making it accessible to the public," Mirkin told ARTISTdirect.com.
Looks like you put together a banging fest, Mr. Mirkin. We are stoked.
Are you planning to attend the Philly Fourth of July Jam?
