It wasn't so long ago that LCD Soundsystem played their final five shows, culminating in a Madison Square Garden performance that was turned into a documentary. But as many things seem to go, their continued re-birth will be somewhat similar to their swan song, but this time it'll be in Brooklyn. The band have just announced that they will be playing April 6th through 11th in Brooklyn to open up the all new Brooklyn Steel, with a break on the the 9th.
Last year, LCD Soundsystem returned to the stage after a five year absence. They played a bevy of festivals around the world, including Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Bonnaroo festivals. The band played their first two shows in late March of 2016 at Webster Hall in Manhattan's East Village.
In February of 2016, LCD signed to Columbia Record and they are currently working on a new record. In January, bandleader James Murphy updated fans on the progress of the record, saying, "still working on it, but it'll be done soon." However, we are still unsure of just when 'soon' might be.
The summer, the band will be dancing festivals clean once again. They'll be headlining at Shaky Knees Music Festival, Ottawa Bluesfest, and Pitchfork Music Festival.
Tickets for LCD Soundsystem's shows at Brooklyn Steel will go on sale this Thursday, March 30th, at noon Eastern Time. A limited number of tickets for each show will be available to purchase in-person at the Mercury Lounge and Music Hall Of Williamsburg box offices — the line for that starts at 11am Eastern Time on Thursday. There's a two-ticket limit per person per night.
