Liars members Aaron Hemphill and Angus Andrews have scored a new film title 1/1. They will be performing the soundtrack to the movie at Berlin's Pop-Kultur festival, which takes place August 31 through September 2nd. 1/1 was directed by Jeremy Phillips will also be premiering at the festival. "In addition, Hemphill and Andrews will give a talk prior to the screening about "the idea behind the work and the relation of film and music in general,"" reports Pitchfork.
Pop-Kultur's synopsis of the film says, "Lissa is 20 and lives in rural Pennsylvania, USA. And Lissa is sick of this life, routinely trying to find a bit of distraction in sex and drugs. But when her father dies the young woman recognizes she has hit rock bottom. Before regaining love and hope she still has to come to terms with her mother, though."
Mogwai will also be performing their new album Atomic at the festival, which was initially created as the music for a BBC documentary of the same name. A number of other artists will also be performing, including U.S. Girls, Cat's Eyes, and many more.
Liars last released their sixth studio album, Mess, in March of 2016. There are currently no other tour dates listed on the Liars' website. There also hasn't been mention of any new music coming from the band, but, hopefully, now that they've completed this soundtrack, it means some will be coming soon.
