Jailed rapper Lil' Wayne, who has been incredibly productive while in the slammer, blogging about sports while locked up on weapons charges and keeping a watchful eye on other at-risk, suicidal inmates, has been caught with unauthorized electronic equipment in his cell, according to reports published by The Village Voice. A search of Weezy's cell uncovered headphones and a charger which were reportedly hidden in a garbage can in his cell, while authorities found his iPod in another inmate's cell, which is considered a minor infraction. Wayne is currently serving a yearlong sentence.
According to the Voice report, inmates at Riker, where Weezy is locked up, are allowed to purchase an AM/FM player and earphones from the commissary, but what Wayne had wasn't authorized, which means someone smuggled it in for him and that's bad news, because it could raise suspicions that he smuggled other illegal stuff in.
Given Weezy's jailbird activities, do you think he should be given a pass for breaking this rule or should he be treated like all other inmates?
