Florida-based promoters are suing Lil Wayne after the 24-year-old rapper allegedly failed to show up for a concert on October 29 of last year, then neglected to reschedule. The promoters, Nunoise Entertainment and Jahfari Promotions, claim that even though Wayne (real name Dwayne Carter) returned a $15,000 deposit, they are still owed $45,000 in "actual damages" and an additional $200,000 for lost profit. The lawsuit was filed in Miami-Dade Circuit Court on Friday, and the contract with Lil' Wayne was indicated to have been signed on September 18, 2006.
"He did miss a date, he admitted he missed a date, and he was supposed to make it up," said Marlowe Blake, the attorney for the plaintiffs. "It's a simple breach of contract type of matter."
Lil' Wayne and his label, Cash Money Records, have yet to comment on the matter.
