Lil Wayne has got more suits than Jacoby & Meyers, to borrow a phrase from the Beastie Boys! The oft-sued Weezy is facing another lawsuit from a rapper who claims that Wayne stole the beat on his track "How to Love."
TMZ reports that Rich Rick filed legal papers in Los Angeles County Superior Court last week, claiming he bought several master recordings from a group of rap producers called Drummer Boyz between 2006 and 2009, including the beat he alleges is used in Wayne's song. Weezy eventually got the beat for a 35 cent royalty agreement.
Still with us? We know, legal jargon gets confusing. Essentially, Rich Rick is retaliating by suing both Wayne and the Drummer Boyz for breach of contract and fraud, among other allegations. He is seeking the sums that the Drummer Boyz are entitled to, as well as 10 percent interest.
What do you think of Lil Wayne constantly being sued over beats and songs?
