Lily Allen's Visa Is Cancelled

There have been many complaints by international musicians about the strict U.S. visa regulations, and now British singer Lily Allen, who has recently taken up residency in Los Angeles, is its latest victim. Allen has been officially banned from the United States for the time being after she was stopped in a Los Angeles airport.
The Daily Mirror reports that the young vocalist was strip-searched, locked in a cell for five hours, and had her visa canceled. "I am trying everything I can to sort this out. I don't like letting my fans down," Allen said. "It is my intention to play my American dates in September. This depends on authorities granting me a new work visa."
"I want my fans to know that I will do everything I can to be back in America in September," she added. "I don't like letting my fans down and this is a situation that I am sure we can sort." It seems that this whole immigration silliness is the result of Allen's arrest in March after an alleged fight with a London photographer. Perhaps the American government considers Lily's explosive debut album a WMD?
