Singer/songwriter Linda Perry is behind huge hits for P!nk and Christina Aguilera, but she also fronted alt-rock-pop band 4 Non Blondes in the 1990s. They were a one-hit wonder, with "What's Up" dominating radio in the earlier part of the decade.
We told ya the '90s are cool again and we've been saying it for the past year. We know what we are talking about.
Perry, now wed to Sara Gilbert, is reuniting with her bandmates for an upcoming charity benefit, some 20 years after the band broke the hell up.
The band will perform on May 10 at the "An Evening With Women" event, organized by Perry. It's by total accident, too.
Perry explained that the gig was the product of necessity, since she didn't want to do it. But when she asked other acts to perform at the event, which she has organized for years, everyone was booked. So she decided to get the band back together and fill the vacancy herself.
"I don't talk to them at all," Perry told the AP. "I have no idea what Christa (Hillhouse) has been up to. I don't know what Dawn (Richardson)'s been doing. Roger (Rocha), I've seen in the mix of things here and there. Not in a million years would I be thinking that this would be happening."
Well, it's time to play catch up and dust off those old songs.
Margaret Cho will host the event, held at the Los Angeles' Beverly Hilton hotel and raises funds for the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center.
