Lindsay Lohan Attending AA Meetings

Lindsay Lohan's mother and publicist have confirmed that the hard-partying starlet has been attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings (or Not-So-Anonymous in Lindsay's case). But Linsday's mom, Dina, has said that the enrollment is merely preventative, and that her daughter is not an actual alcoholic, telling American Idol host and radio personality Ryan Seacrest, "You know, a lot of people she hangs out with go, and it's a positive thing."
Publicist Leslie Sloane Zelnik echoed that sentiment, right down to the same Martha Stewart-like phrase, saying, "She started attending some [meetings], and I think it's a positive thing." Sloane also appealed to the press to lie back a little when it comes to covering her client, hoping that the paparazzi won't reveal which chapter Lohan is attending, and that she won't be besieged by photographers if spotted coming and going from meetings. Yeah, good luck with that.
"To me, the fact that she's seeing that there's something not right makes her smarter than the next person," Sloane Zelnik said.
A doctor was summoned to Lohan's room at the Chateau Marmont on November 12th, leading to speculation that the actress had overdosed. But Lohan downplayed the report, saying it wasn't like she was "Marilyn Monroe, overdosing in the bathroom."
In recent weeks, Lohan has also been criticized for owning too many pairs of shoes, and for firing off an emotional, poorly spelled Blackberry message upon learning of filmmaker Robert Altman's death.
"I want everyone to leave her the hell alone," Sloane Zelnik told the Associated Press, trying an unusual tactic for Hollywood publicists, the hissy fit. "I'm so bored of this with her. No matter what she does, it's never good enough for everybody."
