Lindsay Lohan Gets Stern Warning -- Jail Time Could Happen

The Associated Press reports a judge told Lindsay Lohan on Wednesday he would sentence her to jail if she accepted any plea deal from prosecutors to avoid a trial for allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace from an upscale jewelry store. Lohan claimed that she thought she was being gifted, as is customary between jewelers and celebs in exchange for press.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Keith Schwartz told the former actress what she could expect if she pleaded guilty or no contest in the felony case. "If you plead in front of me, if this case is resolved in front of me, you are going to jail," Schwartz said. "Period." Yikes. Schwartz is not joking around here.
Prosecutors offered Lohan's attorney, Shawn Holley, the terms of a plea deal in a closed chambers meeting with Schwartz. The details were not immediately released, but Schwartz said he didn't think Lohan would take offer.
The judge told Lohan that he was treating her as he would any other defendant, and that he wanted her to get the case resolved and reach her full potential. "I want you to get on with your life," Schwartz said. Schwartzie, we've been saying the same thing for years when it comes to Li Lo.
Lohan has about two weeks to decide what to do—she is due back in court on March 10th. Schwartz said if she does not accept a plea deal, the case will go to a preliminary hearing during which prosecutors will lay out their evidence.
Do you think Li Lo will go to jail and do hard time? Will she ever clean up her act? I am tired of this song and dance.
